Local and state newspapers are helpful if you are researching how Pennsylvanians, or communities in Pennsylvania, are responding local issues and events, or current events nationwide.

One of the best places to start your research is Nexis Uni which contains a variety of Pennsylvania newspapers and newswires. Nexi Uni is listed in the Databases A-Z and  News Sources in Databases.  

You can also search your topic in OneSearch but to search efficiently, make sure you limit the search results to Newspapers (look for the checkbox on the left).
