What happens if an item I borrowed is damaged?

Answer

Books and other circulating materials that are damaged will be reviewed individually. The processing fee for lost materials is $10.00

Periodicals that are lost or damaged will be reviewed individually. Fees are determined according to whether the item is bound or unbound.

Media Equipment, including Laptops:  If any media equipment is lost, stolen, or damaged while checked out, the user will be responsible for the replacement or cost of repairs of the equipment.

Other Library Materials: For other library materials not otherwise designated above, the cost will be the replacement cost plus a $10.00 processing fee or a flat fee of $20.00, whichever is greater. For further information, consult the fines and fees policy webpage.

Note about Account Holds: All library fines are reviewed. You are notified if your fine(s) have been turned over to Student Financial Services and/or the Registrar’s office.  Your registration, graduation, and transcription requests will be posted as a "hold" on your account.
