What do I have to do if I can’t find a book in the Library?

Answer

  • If the book you are looking for is not on the shelf, check the Library Catalog to be sure that the status is “Checked In” or "Discharged" (discharged means the book has been returned and ready to be shelved).
  • If you are not sure where to look for the book, ask for assistance at the Reference Desk on the main floor of Stevenson Library or at the Clearfield Campus Library Circulation Desk.
  • If the book is missing from the shelf and the status is “Checked In”, please report the book as missing by filling out a Search Form at your library's Circulation desk. Circulation staff search repeatedly for missing books and you will be notified if they find the book. The book will be declared "Missing" if it can’t be found after repeated searches.

After you have reported a book as missing, you may request it from another library through E-ZBorrow.
