If you are a student at LHU, or if you are enrolled at a class, MS Office 360 is offered to you free of charge. Here is a link to downloading MS 360 software.  Follow the instructions through this link for the installationof software, and the authentication of your LHU account. http://community.lhup.edu/stsc/MSO365.pdf

More info:

Two websites offer access to free software compatible to MS Office: Google Drive (https://drive.google.com), and Open Office (http://www.openoffice.org/).

Google Drive offers a suite of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software that is compatible with MS Office. You access these programs off the Google Drive website: Google Drive requires you to create an account. Once you create an account, you can access your Google Drive documents from any computer off the web ("The Cloud").

For Mac users, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are free on an iCloud account. You may download these programs at the app store. (free if you have a  new Mac).

NOTE:
BEFORE DOWNLOADING ANY SOFTWARE OFF THE WEB BE SURE TO RESEARCH THE RELIABILITY OF THE SOFTWARE AND SOFTWARE SOURCE: Check with the LHU IT Department (570-484-2286) And Wikipedia is a good place to begin this research (Wikipedia is an exceptional source for technical/computer questions).
